The National Youth Service Corps programme has been around for many years now, it has seen the good and bad days of the federation. As many say, it is an ideal programme construction that so far has processed the raw material that drive the nations manpower and economy as the case may be. The question thrown to the general public few weeks ago, which though, was not the first time, was should or should not the NYSC programme be scrap?

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measures. Civil disobedience in Nigeria has been a moral weapon in the fight for justice, but today, because of long period of constant denial of ones right, fruitless quest for opportunity, endless marginalization, favour and accolades to leaders who implements corruption but punishment and castigation to the ordinary man who challenges the status-quo, men, women, children all now adopting the last option of violence in the fight for justice.

Have you ever wonder why women are so special and precious? Have you ever wonder what makes women so strong yet so weak? So focused yet so seemingly distracted? You surely will not know until you read this: A little girl asked her mother: why are you crying? Because am a woman she told her. I don't understand, she said. Her mum just hugged her and said, and you never will.

I will serve all Americans irrespective of status. Americans, this is not the change we seek, but this is the chance  we need to make the change- just few of President Obama's comment after the victory show.

Two hundred and twenty one years ago, in a hall that still stands across the street, a group of men gathered and, with these simple words, launched America's improbable experiment in democracy. Farmers and scholars; statesmen and patriots who had traveled across an ocean to escape tyranny and persecution finally made real their declaration of independence at a Philadelphia convention that lasted through the spring of 1787. This was how the story of America began, so many years ago, with the blacks being her major strenght.
